October 25, 2008, Great Melodies from Around the World, will feature Brandon Houghtalen, a conducting graduate student at CU Boulder.

Our Concertmaster
Our Concertmaster this season, Robert Townsend, has been our conductor with the Orchestra since 1994. His musical expertise and encouragement has provided a solid base for the organization; he is admired and appreciated by every member. He is also admired and respected by our audiences. His continued presence has resulted in continuity in personnel, and he has enhanced the quality of our performances.

Our History
The Broomfield Civic Orchestra was formed by a few local musicians in the fall of 1981. Their goal was to provide the residents of Broomfield, & it’s surrounding areas, the opportunity to enjoy, and participate in the performance of orchestral music. The Orchestra is dedicated to enriching the cultural resources of Broomfield. As a self-governed, independent, organization, the Orchestra continues to exist and prosper through the dedication of it’s volunteer musicians.

Who We Are

As an independent self-governed musical group, the Orchestra is unique. Our members
are non-professional musicians from all walks of life who donate their time and talents
for weekly two-hour rehearsals & all performances.

The Broomfield Civic Orchestra is a member of the Broomfield Council on the Arts & Humanities.
