A warm and sunny afternoon was perfect for our recent "An Afternoon at the Opera" performance at Broomfield United Methodist Church featuring guest artists Margaret Ozaki Graves, Lee Ann Scherlong, Jonathan Hodel, and Steven Taylor. The performances were enjoyed by all in attendance. The Broomfield Enterprise had a nice
feature article on concert.

A record eighteen middle and high school students auditioned at our annual Youth Concerto Competition today! The two winners will perform with the orchestra at our May 17 and May 19 (two performances) 'Rock & Pops' concert, so mark your calendars. The middle school winner was Forest Amber Borealis, and the high school winner was Natalie Hodges (both play violin).

Our "Christmas Stories" concert on December 17 featuring narrator Steven Taylor was another 2011-2012 season sell-out! The Broomfield Enterprise ran an informative
article about the performance on December 8, where our music director David Brussel was also interviewed.

The Broomfield Enterprise ran a
very nice story on our 30th Anniversary season, and our performance on October 22 at the Broomfield Auditorium featuring piano soloist David Korevaar. The concert was a surprise sell-out, as in addition to our local audience, David brought quite a large group of first time BSO concert-goers from Boulder as well.

The Broomfield Days celebration went very well! More than 75 kids got to check out various instruments in the "petting zoo." We got to introduce hundreds of people to the BSO and what we do. Our season flyers almost ran out and we had many sign-ups for our concert email mailing list.
